1917 – Taking advantage from his statute
of neutral country citizen, Julien
Eschenbach, young Luxembourgian pianist,
practices his job in Paris, while his friends went
to war. One day, he receives a telegram
from his friend Jacques, war pilot, who
invites him for a week-end at his family
home in Bray. The housekeeper, a
beautiful but mute woman lets Julien in,
but his friend is late and he is obliged to wait. In the meantime, he starts
reminiscing of the pre-war days spent with his friend and Jacques' girlfriend
Odile.
