The near future. MATHEAS, a military chaplain haunted by the demons of his past, returns to Montreal where Martial Law reigns as rival gangs, sects, and cults battle for dominance. When a radical sect kidnaps SONJA, a vibrant church volunteer, he is drawn to help rescue her. Soliciting the aid of PHOENIX, a street-wise drug trafficker, they follow a trail of clues that lead to a wild pagan gathering in the Mountains. Matheas frees Sonja, but they are mercilessly stalked back to Montreal, along a path where close friends betray each other, enemies become allies, and hunters become the hunted…
