Eight years ago, Fr. Colin Hampstead oversaw an exorcism that resulted in the death of 17-year-old Jewel Grant, in rural Louisiana. In the traumatic aftermath, Hampstead, disillusioned with religion, left the church and found refuge in the arms of Jewel’s sister, Kayleigh. Now married, Colin has become a celebrated writer and the couple is hosting a friend’s wedding. What begins as a Big Chill-type reunion becomes something much more macabre, as the ghost of Jewel shatters their weekend of bliss.
