Fernando shows us that the surface is fragile and submerges in a world where the line between reality and fiction is unclear. He shows a place, a reality, which then cracks and gets pierced. As Fernando wanders he presents a variety of spaces and characters within a psychiatric institution. Slowly we get inside their fears, pains, worries, desires, expressed through their voice and bodies. But the camera is tricky and pulls back just when it seemed that we were able to see everything. And again we must build those places, but Fernando isn’t there to guide us. We are alone. Fernando presents us this world which needs of our will to be rebuilt. It locks us inside and turns claustrophobic. It asks: how can cinema represent the world? Movies can catch nothing but lightning and sparks. Lights and shadows from a war. It’s a vision too vibrant to be fixed between the limits of the screen. Here the director stops his search to represent reality and offers his tools to the characters so that they can create a version of their own lives.
